Have you ever heard the saying, "Don't tell me what you're going to do. Tell me what you've done". Well if you haven't you should write it on a wall or a mirror or on the forehead of the person you speak to the most.
There are some people that actually say what they are going to do and they do it. Every time, plain and simple. Awesome! There are also people who say they are going to do things and whose intentions may be pure in the moment, but life happens and they may not be able to follow through as promised. Then there are those people that for whatever reason feel the need to make false promises, constantly say what they are going to do and never do it and tend to be extremely wishy washy.
Even the latter may not realize what they are doing but the truth of the matter is, be careful. Look at this list and figure out who you are. If you are not the first type mentioned I would take a good long look at yourself and figure out a way to overcome the pattern.
If you surround yourself by people that tell you they are going to do things, even the simple things, and then they don't do it, what will happen is, you will subconsciously stop trusting them. No one wants to submerse themselves in here-say. Speculative promises that go unfulfilled leave doubt in it's wake.
Don't get me wrong, I am not talking about sharing with your friends that you are pursuing some grand endeavor and you confide in them while you are in pursuit. I am talking about the little things that add up and will eventually equal loss of trust.
If you say you're going to call, call.
If you say you're going to be somewhere, be there.
If you say you're going to do something, do it.
If you find yourself for whatever reason not being able to follow through with a promise, gesture, or intention, tell the person. Be brave and face the truth. No one is going to like you any less because you aren't able to deliver. But people will stop trusting you and you will alienate people if you don't adhere to what you say.
Remember, words have power. Your integrity resides not just in your words but in the actions that follow... After-all, actions do speak louder than words. Don't you think?

It's simple
Life will give you what you ask of it, plain and simple. What you have to remember is that you are constantly putting off thought waves that help shape what happens to you. What you dwell on really does become that which you manifest.
You must remember some things when trying to pursue the art of creation.
There is importance in being specific.
You must be very clear in your intention.
If you know your what, the how will take care of itself.
Always look ahead, don't dwell on what lay behind you.
Be willing and open to adjust accordingly.
Welcome change.
Honor defeat.
Learn from your mistakes.
Stay out of your head.
Be careful of people that aren't supportive of your dreams.
Choose to see the best in people.
Listen to your life and trust your intuition.
Be honest with people and yourself.
Don't be afraid to make a fool of yourself.
Know that your feelings may get hurt along the way but time heals all wounds.
Remember that people have their own distractions and it doesn't mean they care any less.
People can only love us as much as they love themselves.
Don't have regrets.
Embrace the possibility of the future being everything you want it to be.
The world will give you what you ask of it so be careful what you ask for.
Remember to treat others as you would like to be treated.
Use communication and honesty to relieve any chance of misunderstanding or pain in others.
Remember people have feelings and feelings are fragile and are to be treated like precious cargo.
What you put out really is what you get back.
No one can let you down if you don't allow them to hold you up.
Choose love. Be kind. Be honest. Be trustworthy. Be truthful. Be sincere. Be mindful. Be open. Choose happiness.
Always say what you mean.
Don't lie!
Be impeccable with your word.
Don't make assumptions.
Always do your best.
Don't take anything personal.
Have empathy.
Feel the fear and do it anyway.
It really is true that everything you ever needed to know you learned in Kindergarten.
When you take care of yourself you are more apt to be careful with others feelings. When you are honest you are more apt to be surrounded by people who can be trusted. When you put yourself out there you create a giving and carefree spirit. It is important that you keep your integrity at all times. Know that even when you stumble there is dignity in brushing yourself off and trying again.
It really is quite simple.
What are you putting out?

Happy Sunday
The perfect morning song to brighten your day... it's working for me...
Courtesy of the Partridge Family
Hello world here's a song that we're singing
Come on get happy
A whole lotta lovin' is what we'll be bringing
We'll make you happy
Travelin' along there's a song that we're singin'
Come on get happy
A whole lotta lovin' is what we'll be bringin'
We'll make you happy
We'll make you happy
We had a dream we'd go travelin' together
And spread a little lovin', then we keep moving on
Something always happens whenever we're together
We get a happy feeling when we're singing a song
Trav'lin' along, here's a song that we're singing
Come on get happy
A whole lotta lovin' is what we'll be bringing
We'll make you happy
Come on get happy

Life Ever After
Life ever after starts from within.
It starts with a smile or silly little grin.
Choose happiness and find your smile.
Have an expressive kind of style.
Be who you are and wear what you want.
Strut around like a debutante.
But remember to be nice to all that you meet.
Love and affection will make you complete.
Find the humor in all that you do.
Laughter is the best medicine for you.
Being silly starts with a grin
While life ever after starts from within.
Are you having any fun?

Embrace Your Flaws
Will there be a rock in the road that will eventually send the wheels of your patterns spinning off the side of the embankment so you can skip away unscathed? Is there a rainbow we can slide over to come out on the other side? There has to be a way to let go of the idiocies that were instilled in us by parents that just didn't know any better.
And what about the patterns that we created to use to protect ourselves? How do we let go of those if they keep leaving us getting in our own way?
I don't know about you, but life finds me constantly making mistakes, saying the wrong thing and probably making the ultimate fool of myself. My innate nature has impulses that sometimes take even me by surprise.
In my upbringing there was a lack of love, support and encouragement. It was a very quiet existence for me. So how ironic that I would rebel against it and embrace the pattern of being a blurter. The sometimes emotional instability can be draining and it's no wonder I can have healthy relationships at all. The lack caused me to rebel against the pattern by overcompensating and loving to give compliments. But everyone is different and some people are unable to give compliments or encourage others or share acknowledgements.
We must remember, we are all people and we have all in our own way been through a lot. Some of you have even shared with me what you have been through and touched my heart in the deepest way.
We are all in this together. You are not alone. We have our challenges to overcome but humanity has shown us that we do evolve. And if we come from a place of humility, forgiveness and accountability we will learn, grow and progress.
Embrace your mistakes and don't be so hard on yourself. Go out and make a fool of yourself. Take the risk. Embrace your flaws. You never know who could be watching and think you are absolutely perfect.

Promise Yourself
It's Monday morning and my pensiveness finds me lost in my thoughts with no breadcrumbs to show me my way home. Where ever you go there you are. And it's time to look in the mirror. Sometimes there are things that we just don't want to let go of. Sometimes we find they were holding onto us the whole time. Sometimes it's time to stay in the moment because there is no where else to be. Sometimes we really do need to throw caution to the wind and just and wait and see where it takes it us...
A leap of faith and an epic adventure. An autonomous decree that if I miss, the stars will catch me. I become one with you and the world is an illumination. Me the shadow dancer being beckoned to embrace the splendor. The flight of an angel. Protected from the fears of adolescence. Guided through clouds of promises. Gratitude holds us high. Traveling the summit of our consciousness. Only the inner wonderment of a child shall find us airborne. Defying gravity. Immersed in the blue moon. The beauty of natures charms open their arms to us. Below the grass green and untouched. Smell the flowers and bask in their ability to wear their Sunday best. Not a wrinkle in their stems or a pedal out of place on their heads. The light breeze sings for them, as they dance for me. My leap of joy. I believe. The awareness has made me one with the energy fields around me and so I ascend in harmony. Be set free. Rise to the occasion. Choose life. An answered prayer, a silent lullaby, a dream come true. Help me stay on course. Help me to live like a butterfly. Help me glide. Help me love. Help me belong. Help me trust. Help me keep my promise.

Opening the Lines of Communication
Asking questions can be unnerving. You don't want people to think you aren't listening or you don't understand or that you're prying. But in order for the lines of communication to work you must be open to the give and take of information. The only way to get the facts is to ask the questions. You don't want to make assumptions.
Making assumptions means you don't have all the answers to form a conclusion so you are going to add your own fillers to make the story make sense. The implications of this kind of conjecture leads to disagreements and arguments and it can even lead to distrust.
To help in the process of transforming your life you need to find the courage to inquire. When you express with each other what your wants are you are not leaving any chance for misunderstandings. When you are clear with each other you avoid drama. When you are honest with each other you invoke confidence. Without room for assumptions the truths are exhibited and trust is born.
Also, keep in mind that you must be accountable too. Skirting around issues, giving half truths or not telling a whole story leads to insecurity. Some people are prone to this way of communicating. This is not well suited for everyone. People speak different languages and come with their own versions of baggage and the best way to get through life is to find people who's baggage matches yours.
It is also important that you honor your boundaries and you trust your intuition. If you feel someone isn't being honest with you and you find yourself making assumptions than maybe your lines of communication are not compatible or maybe that person just isn't worthy of your trust. This is a possibility not to be overlooked. Why would you want to be with someone who isn't honest with you?
Relationships and friendships are meant to be uplifting and inspiring not draining and confusing. By now you should know the difference. Heed the warnings of the red flags and let your intuition give you the insight into your own happiness. Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself and don't be afraid to walk away.
Healthy communication is a key to long term exuberance and when this door opens anything is possible.
Are your lines open?

Honoring the Sadness
Today is a very different day and as I let the moment seize me, the smile that reaches my eyes sends sparkles ahead of me like the shooting stars you wish upon. The past is history. The future is a mystery and this moment is a gift. That's why this moment is called the present.
With that said and my intention in tow, today finds me realizing that wishing things were different is a waste of time and energy. There is always a way to heed the lesson in the adventure and figure out a way to be happy in the sadness. Things don't always happen the way we expect them to but that's the problem with expectation, preconceived notions left to follow suit with your conjecture will leave you depleted and lost.
Sadness is vulnerable, it can seem lonely and it can leave you feeling detached, but sadness can also bring you out onto a threshold of elevation. Sadness is a state of mind and can't a state of mind be altered? Mind over matter right?
Finding the strength will help you release that which is making you sad. For me the clarity comes from my tears. My tears give me strength and they help me move on. Like the snow that covers the earth like a blanket to keep it warm for the winter, so do my tears comfort me.
The clarity shows me that the Universe gives you what you need not always what you want. Think of the things that leave your life as gifts from the Universe because it opens you up to other things and shows you new perspectives in your growth. Welcome the change and embrace where your road will take you next. Skip forward and don't look back.
A little reminder never hurts either...
There has to be a window
So you can see past the waters edge
A wondrous rainbow of color awaits you,
If you just believe in what’s been said
If you listen to your heart
The words can speak in volumes
But you can’t fear the past
That’s been leaving you unraveled
The unknown is where
The answers are revealed
If you can keep the faith
In the truths that are concealed
Open up the lid
of your life unlived
And all your truest passions
Will come rushing to be fulfilled
Even though in times of trouble
it’s hard to understand
Let your life catch up to you
and gently hold your hand
Know you were made with love
in the eyes of happiness and glory
And know that you were meant to be
A happily Ever After kind of story.

Let it Be
Painting courtesy of Pepper Carlson
If you hold on to people that weren't meant to stay with you, you are bound to feel loss when they are gone. And that's okay too. You can miss the people that move on from your lives but you must keep living yours.
So how do you know which people are meant to stay with you and which were there to help you get over an obstacle or hurdle? Or maybe help you get out of your shell? Or maybe you were there to help them?
I have 3 friends right now having 3 very different relationship experiences. These got me thinking about my own dating life and if in the end I really think it's worth it. Everyone is made different. Some people get wrapped up in the romance of it all only to have those moments not last. Some people push others away because it's safer. Some people were meant to be in relationships and they nuzzle in together in a perfect fit.
Sometimes it's also okay to be alone. Sometimes we are happier and more courageous, and flirtier, and sexier. We have more confidence so we have amazing intelligent conversations with strangers when there isn't any attachment or pressure.
You must approach every situation with open arms. If you don't take the leap you will not know how great it feels. If you don't open up you won't know what you are capable of. If you don't spread your wings you will never know if it was meant to be.
Sometimes you fall for the idea of someone. Sometimes you fall because you think it's what you are supposed to do. Sometimes you just fall. Sometimes you should embrace the possibility that you are supposed to be practicing and that it is what it is.
Things are what they are until they're just not that anymore. And it's all perfect if your perception is in tact and you can let it be. Sometimes that's all you can do and sometimes that's what was meant to happen anyway. There is freedom in that.

Putting Yourself Out There
Putting yourself out there is scary. There are so many things to be frightened by. You might make a fool of yourself, you might stumble a little, you might even get hurt. But which is worse? Staying stuck and wishing you were doing something or staying in the moment and throwing caution to the wind?
Yes you should definitely be careful with yourselves and with others but you should also embrace the impossible, welcome the unknown, and give your fears a big old fashion bear hug. Maybe if you find a way to grab onto your fears and squeeze, you can extract them right out of yourself.
Fear is in your mind. You fear something because you have never experienced it, you don't know what it is and you just don't know any better. Where is the growth in that? You make choices everyday about a lot of things. Why not make the choice to be courageous, bold and adventurous.
Start small. Overcoming the smallest fear will lead to bravery and bravery will lead to excitement and excitement will lead to courage. When you practice overcoming your fears you will find yourself accomplishing so much more than you ever dreamed you could.
Have you put yourself out there lately?

The Art of Letting Go
It's been a while since we had a "check in" so today is the day. I for one had a very interesting epiphany this evening. It's possible that my lucid coherence to the facts brings me a step closer to grasping the art of letting go. For this I am thankful and I am also very aware that my deepest moments of recognition come when I am overtired and overworked. This is an interesting concept onto itself, "When we are too tired to fight ourselves, we have no choice but to be open, and it is in this openness that our true answers are revealed"
Even though my day started at 4am for the second day in a row, it was inevitable that I find a way to nourish my body. Taking myself on an evening run in this beautiful weather on the sandy beach of the Marina peninsula gave me a priceless moment of clarity. While there is excitement at the revelation there is also a sense of awe. We certainly are an interesting breed with intricate layers to our emotions, patterns and roots.
Does my awareness mean it's possible that moving on from this pattern is finally within my reach?
One can only hope.
Since most of my childhood was spent trying to establish a relationship with my mother that she wasn't cable of having, it was unavoidable that one of my patterns would find me wanting what I couldn't have. Interestingly enough, when it comes to my friendships and my work I have been quite successful at fulfilling my dreams and establishing long lasting connections.
Relationships have been a whole other story. After my five year relationship I settled into the insight that maybe I am the one that is emotionally unavailable. That turning into our parents is inescapable and thus my fate was sealed. But the awareness gave me a realization. Being cognizant is half the battle. I convinced myself that I could rise above the low vibrational level and be available to the possibility.
One of my best friends told me once that when you date someone you should be left feeling elevated by the exchanges, cherished as a person and motivated to be the best you, you can be. This information nuzzled its way into my heart and I started walking in its footsteps.
This new vibrational level has me accepting my shortcomings, embracing my quirks, and loving my sense of independence. My flirtatious nature finds my eyes sparkling and I have found my happy. While some dates have left me wondering if dating was for me at all, one interesting encounter left me breathless. The good thing is I now know what I am capable of. I am having fun feeling again, being sexy, and embracing the adoration. But here in lies the rub.
What do you do when the connection is there but the person isn't going to be for months on end? Do you wait when you are supposed to be living your life and finding someone to share it with? Do you spend months missing each other and sharing how you wish you were together or do you set it free?
My precarious nature wants the world and everything in it. It's hard to let go of things sometimes. Especially when big parts of those things make you feel amazing but the choice must be made to live in the moment. We can't stop our lives for risk it will hinder our growth. Everything happens for a reason and there is someone for everyone. Time holds so many secrets and if we really can manifest our own destiny (and I believe we can) we just need to be more specific about our needs, wants and prerequisites.
It's time to take this experiment a step further and see just how far awareness can go in making sure our patterns relinquish control to our true nature. Have you had any pattern shifts lately?

effervescent lifestyles
there are serendipitous waterfalls of organic poetry that feed the effervescent lifestyles of the young and the missing. shaded from the sun by thoughts of sexually promiscuous turnabouts that leave your hair wet and your breath heavy. for once upon a dream of kindred spirits shadowed by the inevitable qualities of knowing how to be spontaneous. there was little to be laid down to rest in the after-mass of what was shared between the earth and the sky. shared rainbow masquerades collide in an explosion of orgasmic rapture that can only occur as bodies are transformed into one enigma. Awareness isn't Enough?
Bali Stairs Photo Courtesy of Sean Newhouse
Why is it so easy to obtain a habit but so hard to break it? What is at the crux of our own truth? Where do we go to cross the threshold? Who is holding our karmic puppet strings? When does having awareness become enough information to change?
Habits are hard to break. But what if we know that the best way to get over a habit is to replace it with another habit? We seek out the positive counterpart and de-brain wash ourselves. If we spend at least 21 days reprogramming ourselves our new habit will be born and hopefully the old one will retreat into the abyss.
The truth is hard to face. But what if we get into our place of courage and know that the truth will set us free? Then we should become advocates for the verity of our own circumstances. Hopefully the candor will bring us closer to our true selves.
The threshold is hard to find. But what if we know that our authentic selves are waiting for us on the threshold? Then it should make it worth rummaging around for right. It doesn't matter how many steps we have to climb when hopefully each step makes us stronger in our intention.
The karmic puppet strings are loose. But what if we know that we can compel our own change with our fervent determination? We will control our own destiny. It is up to us to stimulate our own growth, summon our own answers, and consider that we are the ones hopefully influencing the outcomes of our own existence.
The Awareness is only half of it. But what if we know that we can appeal to our better nature? We will be able to use the information to actually change our own essence. It is a conscious choice to let go of the negativities instilled in us as children. It takes lots of practice and it is important to nurture ourselves during what can be an arduous process. Surrounding ourselves with compassionate people and being sympathetic to any of our own shortcomings is crucial. It is imperative to know that sometimes we react in fear. Fear of loss, fear of letting go, fear of failure. Even fear of success.
We need to create habits in ourselves that entice us to be better. It is through these new habits that we can get to the crux of our own truths and releasing the patterns of other peoples fears. When we find our truth and humility the threshold will become visible. We hold the answers within us, we create our own destiny and we possess the ability to shift our own karmic strings in any direction. At the heart of our change is our awareness and willingness to change. We can't be afraid to put ourselves out there and we need to stop pushing people away.
Even though we may encounter stumbling stones along the way, once you are aware of them you can just use them to play hopscotch.
Where is your awareness taking you today?

Course of Action
You can change your course of action in any given day by simply taking a moment to slow down the mind, take a deep breath and get into your place of new intention.
Ever notice that when you are running late that everything that could go wrong does? You get wrapped up in the stresses of over sleeping, losing track of time or being distracted by the task at hand. Once you jump into this place of frantic reaction it can take hold of you and wreak havoc on your entire day.
It can literally set off a domino effect of disaster if you're not careful. While running out the door you might stub your toe or break a heel or lock your keys in the house. If you're rushing you might get into a car accident or miss your exit or get a flat tire.
Life has a funny way of giving us what we put out. It is that simple. The worlds irony can be adjusted by your conscious intention to alter your state of reality. With a deliberate simple twist of fate you can and will call the shots of how your day will unfold.
You have power and you truly need to believe you have the power to change your circumstances by trusting that your thoughts really do become things. Your life was not meant to be a little boat on choppy waters. You were meant for smooth sailing. You were made for greatness. You need to just remember how simple it all is.
You can realign your sense of self and purpose and change your course of action. If you wake up in the morning having overslept thanks to your silent alarm, you should not jump out of bed in distressed trepidation. You should put your head back on the pillow, take a deep breath and say to yourself, "Okay I overslept but this will not set the precedence for my day. Today will run smoothly and effortlessly as I have the power to change my course of action starting now". Then you get up and start your day. Yes you should probably move a little faster than you normally do but not in an agitated state of mind. You must come from a place of peace for this realignment to work. And it can work if you believe in yourself and your power.
What actions are you taking today?

Lucky Is What Lucky Does
If you believe in fate than your destiny will retrieve you. Your karma will catch up with you and serendipity will obtain you. Be open to the possibilities and you will persevere. When you wish upon a star then lucky you are.
If you believe in your course of action than chance will catch you. Your energy will guide you and your potential will be unleashed. Let your sensibilities heighten your awareness. When you wish upon a star then lucky you are.
If you believe in yourself than good fortune will rain upon you. Your good nature will develop your senses and your intuition will guide you. Welcome the adventure and give in to the joy. When you wish upon a star then lucky you are.
Don't you deserve a little luck?

Is Your Door Open?
Bali doorway, Photo courtesy of Sean Newhouse
The truth is, trust takes a minute. It can be hard to come by and it is easily taken away. Only you can make the choice to trust again by trusting in yourself.
The truth is, trust comes from knowing you have integrity and taking responsibility for your actions. When you have confidence in your innate power trust becomes imaginable.
The truth is, trust is hard to come by and it is imperative that you surround yourself by people who can be trusted. If you want to set a new precedence for yourself you must start with trusting your surroundings.
The truth is, you must trust your intuition and have the confidence that your innate abilities will keep you on your right path. You can't let life get in your way when your trustworthy instinct is trying to confide in you.
The truth is, if you leap the net will appear. If you take risks you are promised progress. If you strive to better yourself you will leave a great impression. If you believe in your decisions you will learn to triumph.
The truth is, when you trust yourself it is inevitable that when one door closes another one will open. Only you can open the door to your soul. Only you can trust that when you step through the threshold, life will give you what you ask of it. What lay behind your open door is everything you can imagine, conceive, envision, and apprehend.
Haven't you been behind closed doors long enough?

Is Your Light On?
Picture from above Bali, courtesy of Sean Newhouse
Love is the light that will lead the way. Consider love your conduit to long lasting relationships. It illuminates your innate desires and feeds your passions. Loves benevolence will open windows, doors and hearts everywhere.
Hope is the light at the end of the tunnel. Consider hope your inner flashlight. You control the switch and your batteries are solar powered. It helps you keep striving, pursuing, and seeing the bigger picture.
Faith is where the light is. Consider faith your adhesive to keep you in your strength. Hold on tight and let it hold onto you. The optimism will stir your senses and motivate your aspirations.
Truth is to walk in the light. Consider it your path to freedom from the darkness. The assimilation of truth will enlighten your spirit and purify your humanity. Embracing it shall truly set you free.
Love yourself and you will know hope. Hope for the best and you will know faith. Have faith and you will know your truth. Your truth will release the sun from behind the darkest clouds.
Haven't you been in the dark long enough?

How Do You Do?
It's that time again. Time to look in the mirror. Look into the mirror and remember. Look into our own eyes and recall the beauty. Gaze, admire, look deep, see pure, and when you get enough courage together, smile.
Smile big. Smile genuinely at the smile smiling back at you. A smile on your face, A chuckle in your throat, a giggle on your lips and the laughter that follows; this is the true you. The real you.
You should be the person who loves you the most and believes in you undeniably and thinks you are stunning.
You are looking at the person who gets you out of bed in the morning. The person who no matter how many times they fall still gets up and try’s again.
The smiling person looking back at you is who you really are. So take this smile into the world with you today. Share it with everyone you come in contact with. This is your free gift to the beauty of the planet and your simple yet tremendous contribution to society.
This smiling face is representative of you and the world looks forward to embracing your smile. Your very smile can save someone’s life. Your sad neighbor uses it to brighten up their day. A lonely stranger holds on to that smile triggering happy memories of their long forgotten life. The teenager who just broke up with his girlfriend embraces your smile as hope that his heart will heal.
Your smile is the undeniable beauty of your true self and the world needs your smile.
Your smile is the undeniable beauty of your true self and the world needs your smile.
It starts with you. A smile will brighten up the darkest of days. If you smile it is impossible to be sad. If you start laughing then a true real laugh will take its place and you can release the sadness. The power in a smile is huge. A random act of kindness that doesn’t cost anyone anything and yet it will shower you and those around you with the riches of happiness.
The best part of a smile is when it turns into a giggle. It’s subtle and you try to control it but why control it? Let it go! When you let go of it, it becomes contagious and when you look around everyone has the same expression as you. All you have to do is smile at someone and the faces before you become brighter and the energy that is transferred lifts you both up to a higher place of elation.
It’s in this higher place of excitement that laughter follows. After all laughter is a smile that bursts.
Have you smiled today?

Did You Know?
You were born to be a miracle so observe who you are. Make your own decisions by listening to your life. The hope will help you believe in you.
In the beginning there was... you.
You found your way into this world. You were strong enough to break free. You were smart enough to know which way to go. You were clever enough to let the world know you were fine with a simple little cry.
And... A beautiful miracle was born.
You were courageous enough to take your first step. You were perceptive enough to form your first word. You were gregarious enough to smile at strangers and make them laugh and make fools of themselves over you.
And... Then you became observant.
You learned how to speak in full sentences. You started thinking for yourself and formulating opinions. You established friendships. You acquired knowledge. You started to form your own personality. You configured your own persona based on what you perceived and who you observed.
And... Then you came into your own.
You decided what course to pursue. You knew what you liked and what you could do without. You started to figure out who you wanted to be. You figured out what was important to you. You started dreaming.
And... Then you found decision.
You dreamt of being a super hero, a lawyer, a writer, a parent. You knew love. You knew that you were unstoppable. You were cognizant of your possibilities. You were eager to live your life and knew you could make a difference. You were unstoppable.
And... Then you stopped listening.
You experienced pain. You knew loss on a first name basis. You let others hurt you. You allowed people to persuade you or undermine your dreams. You were in denial and lost your sense of self-worth. You didn't know that it was always your choice to make. You forgot.
And... Then you found hope.
You found someone to remind you of your brilliance. You started pushing the envelope of intrigue. You remembered that you had dreams of greatness. You started to believe in your power again. You realized it was up to you.
And... Then you believe.
You listen. You test the theories. You experience the changes. You see the winks. You hear the connections. You grasp your inner beauty. You comprehend the messages your life is giving you. Your relationships blossom. Your career flourishes. Your sense of self-worth is unparalleled. Your dreams are your reality. You smile at the mirror and it smiles back at you. You make the right choices. You have found your strength. You have found yourself.
In the end there will always be... You.
Do you believe?

Don't Ask
Being the W Chaser brings lots of questions. They seem to be never-ending. I am constantly perplexed by people even if not always so surprised. For the most part people will prove us right, they will do exactly what we think they will do even if we hope they will do something different. With this knowledge, then why, if we already know the answer to a question, do we still ask it knowing we won't like the response?
If we know someone can't give us the emotional support we need than we shouldn't ask them for it.
How do we truly accept people and ourselves for who we are? How do we let go of the outcome? How do we stop setting ourselves up for the fall?
Some people just aren't capable of certain things. They limit themselves without realizing they are doing it. And by reaching out to someone to fulfill an emotional need for us puts us at fault. I've said it before, no one can let us down if we don't allow them to hold us up.
For my mothers entire life I pursued a relationship with her that she was just not capable of having. Feeling bereft became a familiar sentiment, one that didn't feel good, but going back for more was my only known option. In exchange the need to be accepted, advocated and loved would propagate a very real lack of self-confidence.
There would be a lot of searching over the years but I was looking in all the wrong places. The acceptance, trust, and approval would have to come from within. When we put our faith in ourselves we give ourselves power. When we find our own self-assurance we can stop looking for reassurance.
Sometimes people are fundamentally unable to give you a compliment, wish you well, or congratulate you. It is possible they are essentially incapable of being happy for someone who is experiencing great accomplishments. Some people will tell you everything they are doing but not once ask you what you're doing or even how you're doing.
It's okay. We can't let it affect us. We can't let it get us down. Our feelings may get hurt but we should just forgive. Forgiveness will fundamentally help us grow, improve and will empower us. Embrace the friends that are supportive of you and continue supporting them in their endeavors. Focus on what you do have not what you don't.
Is there someone in your life you have a hard time being happy for? Why?
